The one you'll remember
Par 5, Lion’s Head is almost 500m in length, but its the blind tee shot that really gets you. For the longer players you have to aim a little more left than you feel comfortable with and the fairway really gets tight. As with most of Atlantic Beach, a fairway missed is a ball lost, and this is not an easy tee shot.
What you need to know
- Wind is usually a factor, rather go inland for golf on windy days.
- The fynbos around the fairways are hazards you you are not allowed to search, probably for your own safety, you might get lost.
- Save a little energy for the last, a drivable par 4 at the last can make up for all the lost balls!
- Beautiful views and really nice variety, definitely put this on your bucket list.
A modern links-style course cut through coastal fynbos north of the city, with views across to Robben Island and Table Mountain. Bring a ball you don't mind losing — the rough is thick and the wind is serious. A favourite with corporate days thanks to the clubhouse sitting right on the ocean.
